Software Engineer Intern – Full Stack

National Decision Support Company (NDSC) is currently seeking talented software developers to join our engineering team and participate in the design and development of our clinical decision support (CDS) systems and related platform technology.  The ideal candidate is passionate about building great software and driven to help deliver systems that solve real-world problems.  As part of our engineering team, you’ll be working in a highly collaborative environment in an exciting and comfortable atmosphere.  At NDSC, your work is critical to the success of our company, and each team member is involved in the evolution and progress of our platform from making architecture and design decisions to exploring and implementing new technologies.  As a Software Engineer Intern you will be fully immersed in our product development process and work across our full product stack.

Some things that are important to us:

  • Candidates who are entering their final year of school, and available at least 15 to 20 hours week during school.
  • Experience with OO programming, ideally in C# or a C based language.
  • Interest in developing web based systems.
    • Working with service oriented architecture (SOAP vs RESTful)
    • Understanding of MVC web applications – we use ASP.NET MVC, AngularJS and Bootstrap.
  • Interest working with relational and non-relational data, specifically we work with SQL Server and Elasticsearch.
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment and excited to

Software Engineer – Cerner Integration

Reports to:  Director of R&D

Location:  Madison, WI or remote

Description:

National Decision Support Company (NDSC) is currently seeking talented software developers to join our engineering team and participate in the design and development of our clinical decision support (CDS) systems and related platform technology. This role specializes in the area of our product that integrates with Cerner Millennium PowerChart and similar applications. The ideal candidate is passionate about building great software and driven to help deliver systems that solve real-world problems. As part of our engineering team, you’ll be working in a highly collaborative environment in an exciting and comfortable atmosphere. At NDSC, your work is critical to the success of our company, and each team member is involved in the evolution and progress of our platform from making architecture and design decisions to exploring and implementing new technologies.

Some things that are important to us:

  • Interest in solving healthcare integration projects (EDI).
  • Experience in working with Cerner, specifically, familiarity with Millennium Order and Order Entry tables is ideal.
  • Experience with Discern Visual Developer and CCL.
  • Interest working with relational and non-relational data, SQL is a must, and bonus points for experience with SQL Server and Elasticsearch.
  • Previous experience working with Cerner Discern Rules.
  • Experience with OO programming in C#.
  • Familiar with web based systems, and interest or experience in building modern web solutions.
  • Ability to deliver working software while collaborating with end users and other developers from our integration partners.

Software Engineer – EMR Integration

Reports to:  Director of R&D

Location:  Madison, WI

Description:

This role specializes in the area of our product that integrates with Healthcare IT products (Electronic Health Records, Radiology Information Systems, etc.). The ideal candidate is passionate about building great software and driven to help deliver systems that solve real-world problems. As part of our engineering team, you’ll be working in a highly collaborative environment in an exciting and comfortable atmosphere. At NDSC, your work is critical to the success of our company, and each team member is involved in the evolution and progress of our platform from making architecture and design decisions to exploring and implementing new technologies.

Some things that are important to us:

  • Experience with OO programming in C#.
  • Familiar with web based systems.
    • Experience with service oriented architecture (SOAP vs RESTful)
    • Firm understanding of MVC web applications – we use ASP.NET MVC, AngularJS and Bootstrap.
  • Experience in working with Healthcare IT solutions like Epic, Cerner, MEDITECH, Allscripts.
  • Interest in solving healthcare integration projects (EDI)

Software Engineer in Test

Reports to:  Director of R&D

Location:  Madison, WI

Description:

National Decision Support Company (NDSC) is currently seeking a talented Software Engineer in Test to join our engineering team and participate in the design and development of our proprietary clinical decision support (CDS) systems and related platform technology.  The ideal candidate is passionate about building great software and driven to help deliver systems that solve real-world problems which matter in the lives of others.  As part of our engineering team, you’ll be working in a highly collaborative environment in an exciting and comfortable atmosphere.  At NDSC, your work is critical to the success of our company, and each team member is involved in the evolution and progress of our platform from making architecture and design decisions to exploring and implementing new technologies.

Some things that are important to us:

  • Experience building and maintaining automated test projects, bonus points for experience on projects that have worked across different browsers.
  • Comfortable creating test cases, test plans, and specifications as well as creating or acquiring test data sets typical of the QA process.
  • Familiar with web based systems.
    • Experience testing a service oriented architecture.
    • Firm understanding of testing web applications with cross browser support.
  • Understanding of relational data. Able to write ad-hoc SQL queries? Even better!
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment and directly with product owners and end users.

Software Engineer in Test – Lead

National Decision Support Company (NDSC) is currently seeking a talented Software Engineer in Test – Lead to join our engineering team and participate in the design and development of our proprietary clinical decision support (CDS) systems and related platform technology.  The ideal candidate is passionate about building great software and driven to help deliver systems that solve real-world problems which matter in the lives of others.  As part of our engineering team, you’ll be working in a highly collaborative environment in an exciting and comfortable atmosphere.  At NDSC, your work is critical to the success of our company, and each team member is involved in the evolution and progress of our platform.

Some things that are important to us:

  • Experience defining, organizing, building and maintaining automated solutions as well as coordinating their creation and completion, ideally for web based solutions.
  • Comfortable driving the engineering team’s collective test effort, helping define and refine how we consistently deliver software.
  • Ability to be involved in several concurrent projects to help ensure their successful delivery.
  • Familiar with web based systems.
    • Experience testing a service oriented architecture.
    • Firm understanding of testing web applications with cross browser support.
  • Understanding of relational data. Able to write ad-hoc SQL queries? Even better!
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment and directly with product owners and end users.
